Superhero

This is very interesting - yesterday cousin Michelle and I were hiking up in Rocky Mountain National Park and had a conversation about "I wish I could..." and somehow superpowers came up. I guess now we know who I'd be...

New 'Do

Mom wanted to see pictures of the new 'do, so here it goes! I got a perm a couple weeks ago because I was tired of straigtening my hair all the time and there wasn't quite enough natural curl on its own. And today I got a couple inches chopped off and the back layered a little to show off all those curls!

Renaissance Woman

Today I've added another title to my repertoire: electrician. Since having my own house the jobs at which I've become proficient have increased significantly. I am now a carpenter, painter, landscaper, interior designer, maid, seamstress and electrician. Whew!

This afternoon I tackled my first lighting project and am surprised and thrilled that it's actually functional! The light above the kitchen/dining room table was pretty dim and gold in color - it so doesn't fit my decor. So I bought one with 6 bulbs and a brushed nickel finish. It looks a little high above the table in the picture, but it's not really. I wanted it a little higher than the old one so that if you move the table you don't bonk your head on the light.

I also put up curtains in the office - my "jungle room" as Bob calls it. And the curtains are up in the stairway window as are all the Bosscher pictures up the stairs.

Sheesh - this is starting to look like someone actually lives here!
My next project is to replace the ugly chandelier over the landing on the stairs. But that's a little higher up than I can reach on the stepstool! Does anyone have a ladder?

My Favorite Room

As my house comes together, I'm choosing favorites... rooms, that is. My office is by far my favorite room. It's not spectacularly designed or wild with color, but it's most definitely me. I wonder, are rooms like children where you're not supposed to have a favorite but everyone secretly does? I'm not sure how the other rooms will feel...

I bought a kitchen island of all things which houses all my scrapbook, cards and jewelry materials. It's the perfect place to sit and work on projects. And the view out my window is practically to Kansas, which it the appeal of the house in the first place. (Life discovery #417: Beth is NOT a city girl.)
